CoaguChek XS System Not FDA approved for use in the US.
The CoaguChek XS system is a compact, convenient and precise device which allows patients on oral anticoagulation therapy who have to regularly monitor their PT/INR results to experience a significant improvement in life quality through increased involvement in the management of their condition.
The CoaguChek XS system is the follow-up system to the proven CoaguChek and CoaguChek S systems. It encompasses several innovative enhancements which offer more security and confidence with getting fast PT/INR results.
Customer benefits
With the CoaguChek XS system and coagulation self-monitoring, patients will benefit from more...
- comfort by virtually pain-free testing, anywhere and anytime
- Virtually pain-free testing using the CoaguChek Softclix lancing device: no need for venous blood sampling.
- Only one drop of capillary whole blood (10 µl) from the fingertip to get a quick (1 min) and precise INR result.
- Choice between top-dosing and 2 side-dosing options offers an easier application of blood.
- Room temperature stability for strips improves logistics
- safety by counting on an On-Board-Integrated-System Control (OBIS)
- Displays results only after several quality control steps have been passed.
- Automatic control of internal system functions.
- On-board single-channel strip control (OS2C) which checks the integrity of every strip directly in the measuring channel.
- Failsafe features: device and strip are constantly monitored during the measuring process (e.g. check for sufficient blood volume application).
- Reagent is sensitive (ISI close to 1,0) and compares very well with reference laboratory results.
- Reagent is insensitive to heparin (up to 1 I.U/ml for UFH, up to 2 aXa U/ml for lMWH), allowing continuous vitamin K antagonist (VKA) therapy management, e.g. during transition from heparin to VKA therapy.
- 100 test results can be strored in memory
- Better clinical outcome: testing more frequently means less risks of over- or under-dosing, hence less odds for adverse effects (bleeding or clotting)
Additional features
The CoaguChek XS system and coagulation self-monitoring will result in ...
- better patient compliance
Self-testing helps to build a stronger partnership between the patient and the Healthcare professional, leading to a more compliant, independent and satisfied patient, and to a better clinical outcome.
- better cost-effectiveness
Self-monitoring will contribute to better cost-effectiveness in healthcare by helping to maintain INR values longer within the therapeutic range, and thereby diminishing the risks of very costly complications.
