Safety and Health protection of our employees as well as protection of environment are the principal concerns at Roche Pakistan Limited. We firmly believe that commitment to safety health and environmental protection (SHE) is an indispensable part of our main objective of efficiently producing and distributing quality healthcare products.
Matters of SHE are integral parts of the business planning processes and decision making. They are handled with the same sense of responsibility and just as methodically as quality, productivity and cost-efficiency.
We are committed to comply with all relevant local laws and regulations as well as with Group Policy, Guidelines and Directives.
We ensure all technical, organizational and personnel measures for the prevention of potentially hazardous situations and to manage incidents or accidents which might occur nevertheless.
We strive to achieve eco-efficiency by optimizing resource utilization, conserve energy and avoid damage to environment, employees and public.
We promote continuous improvement by defining SHE objectives based on Group Guidelines, modern technology and the current developments in society.
We communicate openly about SHE with our employees, the authorities, the media, neighboring communities, customer, suppliers, interested organizations and the public at large. |

- Environmental Compliance
 Roche as a responsible corporate citizen has invested significantly in waste management. All emissions are regularly monitored and suitably treated. RPL’s Manufacturing plant at Korangi is fully complying with the National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS).
 The Korangi plant has a fully compliant and dedicated waste water treatment plant which is capable of handling all the waste water generated by its manufacturing operations. The waste water plant has allowed Roche to develop lush green lawns and plantations which has further contribute to improving the environment and made it one of the most picturesque industrial site in Karachi; well know for its scenic garden and elegant building.
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
 The manufacturing Plant of Roche Pakistan Limited (RPL) at Karachi is ISO "14001 : 2004" certified through Swiss accreditation company Society General De Surveillance SA (SGS). These management systems such as ISO 14001 adds structure and discipline to the behaviours of organizations engaged in manufacturing or services.
This certification reflects a continual mindset of Roche Pakistan towards committing itself to Sustainable Development in all aspects of business operations. Thus RPL is better equipped in utilizing the benefits of Environmental Management Systems for gaining financial benefits through reduced raw material usage, reduction in the consumption of energy and compliance to legislative and regulatory requirements. |

Responsible Care Network Awards for Accident Prevention at RPL
|
 Roche Pakistan has repeatedly demonstrated their safe attitude in the day to day working and has managed to register one of the lowest rates of occupational accidents in the last few years. RPL has received the Roche Responsible Care Network Award for the 7 times in a row. (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006).
The announcement of this award is signed by Dr. Franz B. Humer, Roche's CEO and Dr. Peter Schnurrenberger, Head of Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Protection (CSE).
Such a success reflects a continuous mind-set of the organization in maintaining high standards of Safety Health and Environmental Protection and at the same time commitment of every single employee towards realizing excellence in performance in all business aspects. |

Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) Award of Excellence in Best Practices on Occupational Safety & Health 2007
|
 Roche Pakistan has also received the "Winner of EFP Award of Excellence in Best Practices on Occupational Safety & Health 2007."
This achievement is a tribute to all Roche Employees who maintained their high safety standards and enabled Roche Pakistan to be awarded as the best company among all the contestants in the category of Food & Pharma Sector.
 The award ceremony was organized by Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) & International Labour Organization (ILO) Islamabad Office. The country representatives from international organizations like ILO, UNAIDS, UNIDO and the Swiss Consulate General of Pakistan were also present in this ceremony. |
