Herceptin was the first HER2-targeted therapy for breast cancer. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to HER2 receptors present on the surface of HER2-positive tumor cells, blocking them from receiving growth signals and flagging them for destruction by the immune system.
Herceptin IV is indicated for the treatment of patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer, metastatic breast cancer AND Metastatic gastric cancer or cancer of the gastro-esophageal junction
If a patient becomes pregnant while receiving Herceptin, or within 7 months following the last dose of Herceptin, please immediately report pregnancy to the local Roche Adverse Event Line at
