While the efforts of the Hemophilia Foundation of Pakistan have, over the years, provided an avenue of support for sufferers, there has been little or no formal healthcare support/setup in the public sector for the management of this disease. But this has recently seen a major leap forward - with the establishment of the first-ever Hemophilia Treatment Centre in a public sector hospital, The Children's Hospital in Lahore. This transformative initiative results from a multi-stakeholder collaboration between the Children's Hospital, The Hemophilia Foundation, Novo Nordisk Hemophilia Foundation, and Roche Pakistan. While the formal opening of the clinic will be in January, the inauguration and MOU signing ceremony marks a hopeful new chapter in the life of patients with hemophilia and related bleeding disorders throughout the province of Punjab. For Roche, this crucial step in the public health domain is a testament to our persistent efforts and deep commitment in the hemophilia space toward ensuring better health outcomes for patients. We are confident this project lays the groundwork for treatment support and unlocking funding access for hemophilia patients. Moreover, this regional initiative will provide the impetus for such outreach in the other provinces of Pakistan.
